Prof. El-sayed M. El-alfy

Prof. El-Sayed M. El-Alfy is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), with previous fellow affiliation to the SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, and current affiliation to the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Intelligent Secure Systems. With over 30 years of experience in industry and academia, he has made significant contributions to research, teaching, supervision, curriculum design, program assessment, and quality assurance in higher education

Prof. El-Alfy’s research interests span several interdisciplinary fields including Artificial Intelligence and Nature-inspired Computing, Multimodal Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Biometrics, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics and Intelligent Systems Applications. His prolific academic output includes numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, as well as editing books for reputable international publishers. He has also been actively involved in organizing world-class international conferences and supervising graduate students.

Prof. El-Alfy holds several distinguished positions and memberships in professional organizations. He is a senior of IEEE, ABET/CSAB Program Evaluator (PEV), and NCAAA Panel Reviewer. Additionally, he serves as a consultant for several universities and research agents across different countries. He was also a member of ACM, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communication Society, and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. His work has been internationally recognized and received a number of awards. He has served as a Guest Editor for a number of special issues in international journals and been on the editorial board of a number of premium international journals including IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica, and IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks And Learning Systems. Prof. El-Alfy's extensive experience, interdisciplinary research, and contributions to academia have established him as a respected figure in the field of computer science and engineering, resulting in multiple awards and inclusion among the top 2% of scientists in the Global List compiled by Stanford University.
