Conference Chair

On behalf of Ahlia University’s faculty and staff in general, and, in particular, the College of Information Technology, it gives me immense pleasure to extend to all of you, ladies and gentlemen, a very warm welcome to our conference. We at Ahlia University see this as an opportune time to renew our contacts with academic researchers, industrial practitioners and government representatives with a view to addressing salient problems of mutual interest pertaining to Middle Eastern countries in our region.

This conference is to cover wide range of interesting topics under the rubric of information technology innovation in knowledge discovery, bears directly on successful realization of key aspects of the 2030 vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Information technology innovation and knowledge discovery hold great promise to overcome challenges facing the Middle East region, in the aftermath of the decline of oil prices, by affording opportunity to transform the region into a sustainable knowledge-based economy.

Nowadays, business organizations are moving, at an ever accelerating rate, towards data-based decision-making processes. Many companies have started to focus on how to extract knowledge and use it to improve return on investment. Accordingly, the pressure to extract as much useful knowledge from data as possible is very strong.

We wait with great anticipation to hear our distinguished colleagues expressed in recent research developments in the field of knowledge discovery, innovation in Information technology and how these initiatives can better serve the 2030 vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
